Many of the materials I’ve developed for this class and outside of class have been focused on designing edutainment and for teaching programming, cyber-citizenship and computer science principles. Because extensive virtual learning can lead to screen fatigue, my goal is to develop a toolbox of delivery techniques and media formats that will help me increase the modality of the classes I teach. I’ve been exploring the option of a flipped classroom model that delivers most of the lecture content in video or podcast format, or even as a virtual simulation. There are extensive resources available via opensouce (e.g. github) that would allow someone to quickly get hands-on exposure to beginner and advanced projects. I hope to employ some of the learning theories described here to create rich learning experiences for cyber education.
